I am an application developer with a strong interest in biotechnology, genomics to be more specific. It seems like I never seen any jobs advertised for IT positions in these fields. It is hard, or basically impossible, for someone with a degree in programming (CIS) - but no biology degree - to get a position with such a firm?

I needa do a summer project about how any one type of biotechnology works based on an article found in a magazine. Found an article of the human genome and was wondering what type of biotechnology it is. Kinda new in the biotech stuff, never really studied it

I am interested in biomedical research and biotechnology, but I know that many jobs in this area require doctorates. Can you get a job with a company after college and then go for your higher degrees with their financial support? If not, how do most people pay for all of these things?
